So the past couple of weeks, I have been reassigned to work on Rory. I gave Finn's hair sculpt to one of my team members, and I took over Rory for them. It was a much faster process due to my past experience with Finn and the other background characters. My main issue was the head; fortunately, when Andy started rigging Rory, Andy was able to fix the head and make it much more presentable.

I found a decent workflow for clothing as well. I think the only thing I'll have to work on is folds on clothing like sleeves and pant legs. For now, I have poofy versions of the clothes.

Here's the finished Finn:

And a version with edge loops. Also, it shows how nice the geometry is.

Here's the finished Rory:

Some places look a little off in the lined version, but it can't be seen on the main, so I don't think it should matter that much.

I feel like the photos don't quite do the characters enough justice. I hopefully will get to share them when they have hair and when they're textured. They should also have some good shots in the film.

My next task is to start animating. I shall be cleaning up the mocap work and getting shots put together. Today in class, I had a bit of a struggle getting started. I will be animating in Maya and exporting the movements to Unreal Engine, but in order to be able to animate properly, I need the basic props for the scene. I'm having trouble finding the assets. I might need the project leader to help me, but for now, I'll keep searching. Stay tuned because next update I should have screenshots of the characters mid-movement (because screenshot) doing things in the scene!
