Keepin' Up the Animation Grind

Good morning! Today we are back with a smallerish update! It's only been a week since my last blog post, so there is what I did in the last week is all I have to offer.

This week I finished the rough pass on Sequence 0, but then I didn't. When I attached the collars to the character rigs, it broke Shot 6.

So, I attached the collars to all the character rigs! I did get a lot of help from Naasir and Gabe (basically, they showed me all the steps and held my hand through the process with Finn), but I did do it with Lizzo and Rory. We figured out how to parent the collar to the body and make it so I could still animate the collar separately (I hope, I haven't been able to test it yet). This will make it so we can animate the characters and not have to worry about animating the collars with them!

Initially, I was going to attach the collar to the neck control, but that moves around too much, so I attached it to the upper body control so it would sway with the body and also look like it's just resting because the collars are really big on Finn and Rory.

Unfortunately, I get to redo the collar animation on Shot 6. I am a little disappointed about it, but that's because I had it done for a little then I did a good thing which was attaching the collars, and I got punished by Maya by having to redo the shot.

Another shot I get to do is make the Ring Master resume his show after glaring downstairs in Sequence 1 Shot 3, so he is moving around for the camera tracks down, showing the upstairs and downstairs space.

Also, Jaylen added the textures onto Finn. It will make it so much easier to animate the eye movements because we can actually see where they are looking.

I'm going to keep up the progress on the rough pass of animation! Wish me luck that I don't break anything else.
